Alma Roux Moody, 90, of Walton Drive, of Appomattox, died Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Jack Bradford Moody, Sr.
Born in Palatka, Florida, on July 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Rachel Connell and Adophlis Roux. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Alma worked as a church hostess at Southside United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. She ran a restaurant with her daughter, the County Seat Deli and Delights of Salem, Illinois.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Rachel Moody, TAM Moody, Abigail McGhee, and Daniel McGhee; a son-in-law, Terry McGhee; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moody.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Bradford Moody, Jr.; a daughter, Melinda M. McGhee; and a sister, Margaret Roux.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Robinson Funeral Home by Dr. Rusty Small. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 4502 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
