Rustburg: Alley Wilson Bradner, 89, of New Chapel Rd., died Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Appomattox Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Ruby Torrence Bradner.
Born in Pittsylvania County, May 27, 1916, he was a son of the late James Thomas Bradner and Ella McCrickard Bradner. Mr. Bradner was a member of Early's Chapel United Methodist Church, a retired Plant Supervisor for Portsmouth Paving, and a member of the Delaware Hunt Club in Franklin, VA. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran serving his country during WW II.
He is survived by a son, Dennis Bradner of Franklin; a grandson, Scott Bradner and his wife, Tonya of Appomattox; a granddaughter, Jennifer B. Richardson of Rustburg; two great-grandsons, Cole Richardson of Rustburg and Gavin Scott Bradner of Appomattox; two brothers, Oma L. Bradner of Lynchburg and J. T. Bradner of Penn. and one sister, Cassie B. Watts of Phenix.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Early's Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Elwood Torrence with burial following in the church cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #104.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of Karen Bradley, 186 Anslem Drive, Lynchburg.
