Allen Butler Moore, 93, of Clover Place, Lynchburg, died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Bedford Hospice House. He was the husband of Elizabeth Marie King Moore.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., on January 5, 1926, he was a son of the late Maggie Shaner and William Washington Moore. He served his country proudly during World War II as a member of the U. S. Navy. Allen retired from GNB/Exide formerly Gould Battery.

He is survived by a son, Leslie Moore of Lynchburg; three daughters, Mervil Kowatch and husband, Jeff of Lynchburg; Sylvia Phelps of Appomattox; and Page Garrett of Homosassa, Fla; six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys M. Bray, Martha M. Coflin, and Rachel Moore; two brothers, William E. Moore, and Howard Ray Moore.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. John Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, Grace Street, Lynchburg.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home.
