IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allen Randolph
Martin
August 27, 1934 – April 12, 2024
Allen Randolph "Randy" Martin, 89 passed away peacefully at his home place on April 12, 2024.
Randy attended Bob Jones University for two years, then transferred to Lynchburg College where he graduated in 1956. He went onto Wesley Theological Seminary and graduated in 1960. He served as a United Methodist minister for over 60 years throughout the state of Virginia. Randy was a natural counselor. He shared and employed this talent as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Virginia. He lived with his family in Winchester, Virginia until retirement. After his mother, Isabelle Martin passed away, he returned to live in the old home place in Oakville. As a member of Trinity Methodist Church, he taught the Willing Workers Sunday school class for many years. He enjoyed retirement and years spent in Oakville by golfing and playing cards (set back) with friends and family.
Randy's end of life came, as he put it, "if you have to go, this is the way to go" with family and friends always surrounding him in love. He never lost his faculties or his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed as a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend.
We thank each of you for helping us care for Randy and helping fulfill his final wishes to be at home.
Randy is survived by his son, Bryan Allen Martin; his daughter, Shawn Martin Riester and her husband, Bill; two grandsons, Raleigh Allen Martin and Samuel Stuart Martin; his brother, Bentley Wray Martin and his wife, Dale Martin; his nephew, Richard Gregory Martin and his wife, Laura, and their two children, Reese and Bella.
