Allen Hunter Grishaw, 72, of Bedford formerly Brookneal passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Oakwood Health and Rehab.

Born on September 24, 1951, in Appomattox, he was the son of the late Walter Lee Grishaw and Bertha Cyrus Grishaw.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Grishaw and wife, Christina of Appomattox; granddaughter, Taylor Grishaw; great-granddaughter, Khalani Hinds; sisters, Hazel Lee and husband, Raymond of Madison Heights, Faye Wood and husband, Ed of Rustburg, and Dorothy Overstreet of Phenix; brother, David Grishaw and wife, Elaine of Appomattox; brother-in-law, Bob Jackson of San Jose, Calif.; sister-in-law, Jessie Grishaw of Evington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis "Buster" Grishaw and Ray Grishaw; two sisters, Kaye Bentley and Louis Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Morris Overstreet and Willard Bentley; and a sister-in-law, Jackie Grishaw.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Reeves officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
