Appomattox: Alice Elizabeth Womack Mann, 84, known to everyone she came in contact with as Mama or Grandma, died Friday, May 20, 2005 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Louis Wiley Mann.
Born in Appomattox County, February 20, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian Mann. Alice was a member of Bethel Bible Church.
She is survived by two sons; Earl Mann and J. D. Mann; three daughters, Faye Doss, Norma Newman and Bonnie Maxwell all of Appomattox; 13 grandchildren, Warren, Linda, Louis, Ricky, Jay, Clint, Kathy, Bobby, David Earl, Cindy, Nita, Doug, and Jason; 18 great grandchildren, Chris, Ron, Angie, Annie, David, Justin, Tara Ann, Sarah, Lucas, Taylor, Jessica, Jacob, Jenna, Brandon, Leeanna, Haley, Christopher and one to be born in October; and two great great grandchildren, Corey and Camryn. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and church friends too numerous to mention.
She was preceded in death by five sons, Wiley, Jerry, Irvin, Andrew, and Lee Mann; a daughter, Nora Mae Mann, granddaughter, Lisa Ann Mann; grandson, Darrell Matthew Mann and great granddaughter, Taylor Michele Mann.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastors Bunny Gregory, Blonnie Gregory and Orville Gregory. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6- 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
