Obituary

Alice Harris Woody McDearmon Kelsey, 85, passed away to her heavenly home on Friday, December 16, 2011 in Bentley Commons at Lynchburg. Born in Appomattox County, on August 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lewis M. Harris and Alma Spiggle Harris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, George B. Kelsey, C. Lewis McDearmon, and William D. Woody.

She is survived by three step-sons, C. Lewis McDearmon, Jr., William D. Woody, and Stanley Kelsey; grandchildren including her special grandson, C. Lewis McDearmon, III and his wife, Monica; two brothers and sisters-in-law, C. W. Harris and wife, Dorothy and Douglas Ray Harris and wife, Kathy; a sister-in-law, Janet K. Vaughan of Farmville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church, a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #10 of Appomattox and a member of the Robert Morris Order of the Eastern Star of Farmville.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011, in Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Loren Mitchell, the Rev. Cameron Smith and the Rev. Shannon Harris followed by a private family committal service in West View Cemetery, Farmville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 18, at Robinson Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
