Alice Dorothy Carr Hatch, 83, of Piney Mountain Road, Appomattox, died Friday, April 15, 2016, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Warren Whitson Hatch.

Born in Braintree, Mass., on October 31, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Ida and John Carr. She retired after 18 years of service from Thomasville Furniture. Alice will be remembered a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a son, John W. Hatch, Sr. and wife, Susan of Appomattox; two daughters, Linda D. Langston and husband, Thomas of Hollywood, Fla. And Patricia L. Hatch of Morristown, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth Carr of Scottsville, Va.,; a sister, Hazel Rook of Brooksville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Todd, Shannon, John Jr., Adam, Amanda, Jennifer, and Julie; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jeanne Almeida and Susan Ouellette and a granddaughter, April Leftwich.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2016, in Herman Methodist Cemetery, Rt. 608, Appomattox by the Rev. Earnie Lucas. The family will gather following the service at the home of John and Susan Hatch, 3326 Piney Mountain Rd.
