Claude Alfred Jamerson, 90, of Forest Chapel Rd., Pamplin, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

Born in Appomattox County, on April 28, 1920, he was a son of the late Ernest Thomas and Marissa Cole Jamerson. Alfred was a retired welder for the Norfolk Shipyard and a farmer by heart.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lizzie Webb Jamerson; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Harvey of Rustburg; four grandchildren, Marissa Fleshman and husband, L. D., Kevin Ranson and wife, Teresa, Nathan Ranson, and Adrian Sabag and husband, Max; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas Jamerson and Charles Jamerson; and four sisters, Linda Arthur, Garnette Speer, Cornelia Hedrick, and Marilyn Anderson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Madisonville Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Kim Jeffreys.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today, Sat., Dec. 18, 2010 from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
