Alvin Kenneth Goggin, 81, of Promise Land Road, Appomattox, died June 22, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Margie Mayberry Goggin and was the husband of Eileen Baldwin Goggin.

Born in Bedford, Va., on February 22, 1938, he was a son of the Ruth Young and Alvin Kenneth Goggin, Sr. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and attended Prospect Gospel Tabernacle. Kenneth retired from Archer Creek Foundry.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and J.T. Jones of Appomattox and Susan and P. W. Kitchen of Buckingham; four grandchildren, Cody Blanks, Jacob Thomas, Alison Bryant and Jason, and Burkley Kitchen; two great-grandchildren, Cayden Blanks and Nash-Lynn Blanks; two step-children, Laura Colfin and Johnny and Ken Baldwin; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy Strong of Mineral and Cindy Goggin of Rustburg.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Blanks; and two sisters, Loretta Mayberry and Linda Holmes.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Prospect Gospel Tabernacle by Pastor Gary Stoots and Pastor Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and other times at home of Gina and J. T. Jones.
