Lois Krantz Garrett

Born: October 16, 1929
Died: August 13, 2012

Lois Krantz (Granny) Garrett, 82, of Twin Pines Dr., Appomattox, died Monday, August 13, 2012, in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Berkley Davis Garrett Sr.


 
Born in Bedford County, VA, on October 16, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Nellie Harris and William Davis Krantz. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and kept the nursery. She retired from Courtland Manufacturing.


 
She is survived by a son, Berkley D. Garrett, Jr. and his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Victoria Devonne (Bonnie) G. Godsey and her husband, Steve all of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Steven G. Godsey Jr., Aaron Ray Godsey and wife, April, Erica Dawn Garrett, and Stephanie Nicole O’Conner; great-grandchildren, Beth Godsey, Katie Godsey, Lily Grace Godsey, Ryan Funk, and Conner Patterson; two brothers, Robert Krantz and wife, Ella Mae of Gretna and Richard Krantz of Spout Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Krantz Hall Dula and Mary Krantz Cooper.


 
The family wishes to express their appreciation to staff and nurses of Fairmont Crossing where she had resided for the last 18 months.


 
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, in Red Oak Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Barker and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Berkley and Barbara Garrett.
