Dorothy Mozelle Elliott Garrett, 96, of Montridge Place, Lynchburg, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late George Vester Garrett.
Born in Rustburg, on July 25, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Ruth Hamersley Elliott. She was a member of College Hill Baptist Church where she taught the Pioneers of Faith Sunday school class and was a member of the WMU. Dorothy was a member of UCT Ladies Axillary where she had served as secretary and treasurer and retired after 40 years from Craddock Terry.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Jeannette Gray of Goode; a sister, Maxine Rigsby of Madison Heights; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two angelic caregivers, Dawn Elliott and Perscilla Elliott. She was preceded in death by one sisters, Hilda; four brothers, James, Lloyd, Carol, and Marvin Elliott.
A graveside funeral will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012, in Rocks Baptist Church Cemetery, 393 Rocks Church Road, Pamplin by the Rev. Andrew Grose.
