Lewis Carroll Napier, Sr.
(August 19, 1932 - April 8, 2012)

LEWIS C. NAPIER, SR.

Lewis Carroll Napier, Sr., 79, of Appomattox, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 8, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was survived by his wife Betty Trent Napier of 50 wonderful years.

Carroll was born in Charlotte County, VA on August 19, 1932 a son of the late Madge Lewis and Otis James Napier. He was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church and a retired employee of Babcock & Wilcox. Carroll shared his love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family

In Addition to his wife, Carroll is survived by three children; Lewis C. Napier, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Appomattox; Charles A. Napier and wife, Karen of Hampton; and Elizabeth Anne Napier Mahoney and her husband, Mark of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Chelsie Napier, Matthew Napier, and Chris Mahoney and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carroll was preceded in death by his brothers, Buck, Jack, Melvin and Leslie; and his sisters, Dorothy “Sis” Cary, Eunice Mundy, Evelyn Layne and Hildred Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 11, 2012 in Spout Spring Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Mark Grooms and Pastor John Pickett. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence at all times.
