Ola Lois Carter Morris, 89, of Wildway Road, Appomattox, died at her home Monday night August 20, 2012. She was the widow of Robert Miller Morris, Sr.

Ola was born in Appomattox County March 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Thornton R. and Bessie M. Carter. She was a member of Grace Hills Baptist Church and retired as an executive secretary from the Virginia State Police in Appomattox.

She is survived by her children, Robert Miller Morris, Jr. and wife Laurie, and Lois M. Williams and husband, George: two brothers, Willis H. Carter and Richard B. Carter and wife Bolling, all of Appomattox; a sister, Virginia C.Wells of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Roxanne Paulette, Laura Guthrie and husband Terry and Robby Morris, three great-grandchildren, Grant and Grace Paulette and Chloe Guthrie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers

Graveside funeral service will be held Friday August 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Liberty Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Robert Alderman. Friends are invited at any time to her home and to the home of Lois & George Williams, 4788 Horseshoe Road.
