Pauline Gobble Thompson, 97, of Appomattox, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Wayland Rehab in Keysville. She was the wife of the late Joseph Warren Thompson.

Born in Appomattox County, on May 24, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Etta Lane Gobble. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Gail Thompson of Ruckersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine T. and Carl Huskey of Dillwyn; a sister, Defrona G. Smith of Edgewater, MD; four grandchildren, Carl W. Huskey, Olivia Dodson, Charles Thompson, and Andrew Thompson; eight great grandchildren, Melissa Buckley, Theresa Garrett, Kyle Thacker, Aerielle Dodson, Evan Dodson, Jack Thompson, Alex Thompson and Bruce Thompson; and three great-great grandchildren, Brittiny Garrett, McKenzie Buckley, and Jack Buckley.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Gilbert, Ambrosa, Clarence, Abraham, and Summers and four sisters, Ella, Beulah, Winnie, and Georgia.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Lewis Garrett.
