MARGARET YOUNGER GUTHRIE

Margaret Younger Guthrie, 91, died Tuesday June 12, 2012 at Bentley Commons, Lynchburg. She was the widow of Elred James Guthrie.

Margaret was born in North Carolina on August 27, 1920 a daughter of the late Eula Blanks and Stanley E. Younger. She was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker, and member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. She loved gardening, was a fantastic cook and will be remembered by her warm smile.

Margaret is survived by her children, Tony Guthrie and his wife, Janice; Joan G. Johnson and her husband, Jack, Sr. and her sister, Joyce Y. Taylor all of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Ronnie (Angie) Guthrie, Steve May, Karen (Patrick) Richardson, Terri (Brian) Fisher and Amy Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon, Colby & Sydney Fisher, Layton Richardson, Caden Guthrie, Hannah & Landon Waddell. She was preceded in death by her son, Louis Guthrie; daughter, Nancy G. Bradley; and brothers, Joe, William, Charles, Stanley and Lawrence Younger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Clinton Guthrie. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. in First Millstone Baptist Church Cemetery, 1157 Millstone Church Rd. Nathalie, VA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 7-8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Joan & Jack Johnson.
