Beverly Jean DeAtley Gibson, 71, of Evergreen, died Thursday May 31, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Charlie Gibson. She was born in Washington, DC on July 26, 1940, the daughter of Alvin Edward DeAtley and the late Dorothy Gartner.

Beverly was member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was retired from BB&T. She was a member of Kenneth Nash V.F.W. Post in Washington, active in politics, loved singing, sang in the choir at Evergreen Baptist Church and also sang on a radio station in Washington during her younger years.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her grandchildren, Patricia Bell, Melissa Gibson, Miranda Gibson, and Randy Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Nichole Bell, Aiden Bell and Christian Brogan. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Colandrea and son, Jimmy Gibson.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday June 2, 2012, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Chris King.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 7-8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
