Flora Mae Puckett Pierce, 73, of Spout Spring, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry Geter Pierce.

Born in Appomattox County, on April 25, 1939, she was the daughter of Otis Daniel Puckett and raised by her grandparents, Floyd and Annie Puckett. She was a member of Old Concord Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, and a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Henry T. (Poochie) Pierce of Spout Spring and Mark P. Pierce and wife Kathy of Altavista; two daughters, Carolyn Conner and her husband Ray Sr. of Appomattox and Michelle D. Pierce of Spout Spring; 10 grandchildren, Ray Conner, Jr., Jeff Conner Cristy Conner, JR Pierce, Jonathan Pierce, Stacie Morgan, Aron Pierce and Michael Ware, Brandon Ware, and Angela Wood whom she raised as her own; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce L. Bryant of Richmond; two brothers, Bobby Puckett of Richmond and Larry Puckett and wife Karen on Maryland; and a special friend and caregiver, Mary Grubbs. She was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Gary and Danny Wayne Puckett and a half-sister, Donna Pierce.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Rusty Small. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2-4:00 p.m. and other times at the home of Carolyn and Ray Conner, 2182 Red House Rd.
