AUBREY C. DRINKARD

Aubrey Clarence Drinkard, 92, of Oakville Road, Appomattox, died at his residence Tuesday morning May 29, 2012. He was the husband of the late Inez Harding Drinkard.

Aubrey was born in Appomattox County on Oct.9, 1919 a son of the late Susie Martin and Clarence Drinkard. He was a member of Trinity and Mt. Comfort United Methodist Churches, Chestnut Mountain Hunt Club, 60 year member of Clinton Masonic Lodge and a retired employee of the C&O Railroad.

Aubrey is survived by his children, Dennis W. Drinkard of Appomattox and his friend, Mary Stinnett of Lynchburg; Dale D. Wells and her husband, Buddy of Gladstone; Benny Drinkard and his wife, Janet of Appomattox; 5 grandchildren, Renee & Mark Scott, Denny & Jackie Drinkard, Anita & Dale Reed, Denise Drinkard and Megan Drinkard; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Justin and Christopher Scott, Ashley & Alex Rothgeb, Cody & Candice Drinkard; sister, Colena D. Moore of Concord and a sister-in-law, Allyne H. Wells of Newport News.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his wife, Inez; granddaughter, Sheila Scruggs, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

A Memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 2:00 pm in Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann and the Rev. David B. Camden.

The family will receive friends at his residence.
