M. Irene McCormick

Mildred Irene Bryant McCormick, 79, of Riverside Drive, Gladstone died Saturday, April 22, 2012 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry M. McCormick, Sr.

Born in Wingina, VA on November 11, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Hubbard Matthew and Lillie Stinson Bryant. She was a member of Bagby Baptist Church and attended Glory Baptist.

She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Angus and husband, David of Amherst, Mildred Robertson and husband, Michael of Lynchburg, Lillie Belle McCormick of Gladstone, and Lois Kear of Prince George; a son, Richard (Rod) Bradley of Richmond; two step-children, Cheryl Ragland and husband, Eddie of Appomattox and Harry McCormick, Jr. and wife, Martha of Gladstone; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Branscomb; a sister, Lena Bryant; six brothers, Allen, Lanzy, Raymond, Calvin, Harry, and Clemmon; and a grandson, Brandon Kear.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Jeff Worley and Buddy Bryant. Burial will follow in the McCormick Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 24, from 7-8:30 p.m.
