Carolyn E. Litchford

Carolyn Elizabeth “Granny” Litchford, 91, of Appomattox, died at Appomattox Health and Rehab Friday morning, March 30, 2012.

Carolyn was born in Raleigh, NC, February 11, 1921, a daughter of the late Nettie Pearl Tyree and Lloyd Allen Litchford, Sr. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and had retired as a private duty nurse.

Carolyn is survived by her granddaughter, Lisa McCall of Durham, NC; great-granddaughter, Michelle McCall; sisters, Nannie Litchford Christian and Deloris Litchford Ferguson, both of Appomattox, Eunice Josephine Litchford Staton of Lynchburg; brothers, Lloyd Christian Litchford and wife Lucy, and Clyde M. Litchford and wife Rena, all of Appomattox; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby H. Litchford; sisters, Edna Marr and Pansy Jamerson and brothers, Charles “C.D.” Litchford, Thomas E. Litchford and Lloyd Allen “Mack” Litchford, Jr.

A Graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday April 1, 2012, in the Jamerson-Litchford Family Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Watson and the Rev. Carlton Duck.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Sunday, April 1, from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M., and at other times at the home of her sister, Deloris Ferguson, North Avenue, Appomattox.
